I’m one-pass-secure-erasing a new HDD to make sure it works before giving it to the Drobo.
To that end I put it in an external, non-ventilated USB cradle.
It was getting hot so my bedroom window is now wide open to the 8°C outside.
Maybe one of these decisions was suboptimal.

It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.ff00aa.com to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.
