I think I understand now why #Starfield got many positive reviews. The last stretch of the main quest is pretty strong — and the post-credits part is well done, too. The game is mostly front-loaded with bullshit and terrible onboarding, but by the time you pass the finish line you’re used to the bad UX, and the ending somehow made me feel more invested in the world than I was before. The exact opposite of Mass Effect 3, as it were.
Not sure I'd call Starfield "good.” But I'm still playing.
