Also, weird timing, since all their bulbs are about to get Matter compatibility. I guess it’s their last big push to register users before the ecosystem opens up?
I like Hue, for pioneering the smart-light space and for the fact that I’ve never had one their bulbs die on me yet, but I’d rather switch to a brand that doesn’t try to pull a dirty trick every so often. (Wow, it’s been *eight years* since they tried to kill support for third-party bulbs?)

We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.
