Here’s my issue with PWA (and every other hopeful idea for how to break the Apple / Google app duopoly): an awful lot of the apps out now are products of an earlier, more profitable era, and would not make financial sense to write/port again from scratch.
Obviously, Andromeda’s biggest problem is the app gap. Microsoft is betting big on PWA for a reason; not because desktop needs it, but because mobile does.
Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.ff00aa.com to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.
