The rent-seeking is gross but, to a certain extent, understandable. #Unity *has* been leaving money on the table because their business model wasn’t tailored for big, successful games. (I expect they’re particularly frustrated by seeing how profitable iOS free-to-plays can become.)
But it’s baffling just how poorly thought-out the whole thing is. They’re gonna have to walk it back by the end of the week, and they’ll have burned what little goodwill was left for absolutely no benefit.

It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.ff00aa.com to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.
