Oh. When OpenAI launched DALL-E 3 it was only accessible through ChatGPT — before being made available through the API — and I thought that was just to push more people to use the chatbot. (As if it weren’t successful enough already.)
Turns out *every* use of DALL-E 3, even a direct API call, goes through ChatGPT first, both for moderation and to improve the final result. I guess that makes sense?
The “procedure” to prevent the LLM from rewriting your prompt is, of course, hilarious.
