I’d been waiting for the return of interactive widgets so I could resurrect my app that lets you easily assign star ratings to your on-device library. But it’s too late, isn’t it?
The user base was always limited and that was fine but, in the intervening years, music streaming has only gotten more pervasive. Plus I’d have to handle users’ transition from the old to the new widget, which is sure to be a mess. I doubt there are enough interested users left to be worth it.

The latest version of Apple’s mobile Music app removes the simple, built-in way to apply star rankings to songs, but don’t let that stop you.
