The more I think about Apple adding paid search ads to the App Store, the angrier it makes me.
What an utterly cynical, money-grubbing, user-hostile and developer-hostile move from a company that absolutely doesn’t need the pittance of extra revenue it must bring them.
People love to compare App Store to a retail store, but it’s a “retail store” where 99% of the products are hidden in the back room. Only 1% of the products are displayed on the “virtual shelves”.
You have to ask for the rest by name, and then the clerk brings out the wrong one.
